Not Just for Toast: 10 Creative Ways to Use Gluten Free Bread

Last year, we were delighted to launch our brand new gluten free fresh bread – with our best taste and texture yet. Thanks to a new sourdough recipe, our new gluten free bread is more like traditional bread than ever before, with a texture that’s so sumptuously soft and chewy, you’ll find it hard to believe that it’s gluten free.

This new gluten free bread is perfect for toast, creating a satisfying crunch with every bite. But toast is just the start of what you can create with these delicious new loaves. Unlike some gluten free breads, it can also be eaten straight from the pack, just like traditional bread, for a quick and tasty sandwich. Here are ten other creative ways to use Glutafin gluten free bread in your cooking:

Ten creative ways to use gluten free bread

  1. Crispy croutons or garlic bread – simply cube your gluten free bread, toss it in oil and your favourite herbs, and bake in the oven (or the air-fryer). A great way to add crunch to your gluten free soup and a key part of the classic Caesar salad.
  2. Guaranteed gluten free breadcrumbs – the best way to be sure your breadcrumbs are gluten free is to make your own. Just leave out a few slices of gluten free bread overnight, then blitz them in your food processor. They’re great for coating chicken or making your own fishfingers, and they can be frozen ready to use whenever you need them.
  3. Indulgent bread and butter pudding – our gluten free recipe combines rich honey and dried fruit with a crème fraiche custard to take this dessert to the next level of luxury.
  4. Savoury bread pudding – swap out the fruit and honey for cheese and caramelised onions, with a pinch of thyme, and you can move this pudding to the main course.
  5. Simple gluten free stuffing – why use plain old packet stuffing when you can make your own in minutes using gluten free breadcrumbs? Making your own means you can use your imagination, adding sausage meat, nuts and dried fruits for a rich and indulgent addition to your Sunday roast.
  6. Tasty toasties – we all have our favourite toastie recipe, and our new gluten free bread is the perfect place to start. But don’t just stick to cheese, have fun experimenting with different fillings and flavours.
  7. Marvellous mini pizza bases – if you can’t get our gluten free pizza bases on prescription in your area, you can always use a lightly toasted slice of gluten free bread instead. The texture really holds the toppings well, and the small slices are perfect for little hands.
  8. Fabulous French toast – a deliciously different breakfast treat, packed with all the goodness of eggs and milk. For best results, soak your bread overnight in a mix of eggs and milk, and add a pinch of cinnamon for flavour.
  9. Gluten free bread sauce – bread sauce is a popular alternative with festive family meals and Sunday roasts, and it’s so easy to make. Just simmer crustless bread in milk, with some cloves and an onion, for a rich, creamy sauce that’s sure to impress.
  10. Mouth-watering Welsh rarebit – taking cheese on toast to the max, and beyond, Welsh rarebit is thick, tasty and tangy, combining a whole host of flavours from Worcestershire sauce to traditional ale, mustard to mature cheddar. (Make sure your ale and your sauce are both gluten free).
