Changes to gluten free prescriptions in England....

The Gluten Free Prescription In England Have Changed…

The department of health and social care held a consultation into the future of gluten free prescriptions in England, After an overwhelming response from people with coeliac disease, we are pleased to tell you that a core range of foods will still be available on prescription: bread, rolls and flour mixes.

What do you need to do? If you live in England and your gluten free prescription currently covers items like pasta or cereal, it will need to be updated.

So why not take this opportunity to have a look at the bread, rolls and flour mixes on your prescription? View our full (and delicious!) range of fresh bread, longer life breadrolls and flour mixes.

Download our prescription order form, you can use this to form to choose the Glutafin products you would like to order on your prescription.

Your GP will be able to help you update your prescription – so think about making an appointment.

What if my GP says my prescription no longer covers any gluten free foods?

It’s up to your Clinical Commissioning Group (the group that chooses NHS services for your local area) to decide whether they’re going to follow the new guidance.

So if your GP tells you you’re no longer able to have any gluten free foods on prescription, our friends at Coeliac UK might be able to help you challenge your local CCG’s decision. You can get in touch with them at their website or by calling their Helpline on 0333 332 2033.

In the meantime, if you’ve got any questions about prescription changes or our range of gluten free foods, don’t hesitate to get in touch and we’ll do our very best to answer them.
