When you’ve been diagnosed with coeliac disease, and told to follow a strict gluten free diet, it’s natural to wonder what difference this will make to everyday staples like bread, flour, pizza and pasta. One of the questions we get asked most often is ‘what does gluten free food taste like?’
To answer this question, and to help put your mind at rest about the quality of gluten free on prescription from Glutafin, we’ve created the Glutafin Taster Box, so you can sample our delicious foods for yourself. The Taster Box is completely free to anyone who has been diagnosed with coeliac disease, and who lives in an area that provides gluten free on prescription. This includes the whole of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, and many areas in England.
If you’ve recently been diagnosed with coeliac disease, this is a great way to get started with your gluten free diet. It will also help you to decide what you want to order using your gluten free prescription allowance.
To check provision in your area, and to see if you qualify for a free Glutafin Taster Box, simply enter your postcode here.
The most important step is to ask your GP or gastroenterologist to refer you to a dietitian, who will explain what it means to follow a strict gluten free diet and give you lots of help and advice to ensure you get all the nutrients you need.
It depends on where you live. Gluten free on prescription is available throughout Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, covering a wide range of foods. However, provision varies in England, and is restricted to bread and flour mixes only.
Many people will start to feel better within a few days or weeks of starting a gluten free diet. However, it can take several years for your gut to completely heal from the damage caused by undiagnosed coeliac disease.
The Glutafin Taster Box is a free starter pack available to people who have been diagnosed with coeliac disease and live in an area that offers gluten free on prescription. It contains samples of the Glutafin product range.
