This pizza faces recipe will be a real crowd pleaser with the little ones and a chance for them to get creative.

  • Ingredients

    1. 250g Glutafin Gluten Free Select Multipurpose White Mix
    2. 1 ½ tsp yeast
    3. ½ tsp sugar
    4. 200ml liquid (75ml just boiled water, 50ml cold water and 75ml semi-skimmed milk)
    5. 1 tbsp olive oil

    Sauce:

    1. 4-5 tbsp passata
    2. 1 clove of garlic
    3. Salt and pepper

Toppings: (depending on which faces you want to make!)

    1. Red and yellow peppers, sliced
    2. Red onions, Sliced
    3. Black olives, sliced
    4. Pepperoni slices
    5. 50g Grated Mozzarella cheese
    6. Basil leaves to garnish
  • Method

    1. Prepare pizza base: Mix dried ingredients (except for the yeast) together with a fork. Add the oil. Stir in the yeast into the liquid and mix in to make a smooth batter. Pre-heat your oven to 200°C/180°C Fan/Gas Mark 6.
    2. Draw a 6-7” Circle (You could use a side plate as a template) onto a sheet of greaseproof paper and put the sheet on a baking tray. Spoon half the batter onto the circle to fill it and then brush a 1cm border around the base with a little extra olive oil. Bake for 10-13 minutes until golden brown. Repeat with the rest of the mix. Bases can be frozen at this point – wait until cool and freeze for up to one month.
    3. Mix the sauce ingredients together and spoon onto the pizza base leaving the 1cm border clear.
    4. Top with the ingredients to make faces (leave the basil off until after cooking) and cook for a further 5-10 minutes until the cheese has melted and is just starting to brown.
