These Onion Bhajis are packed with flavour and are a great accompaniment to an Indian meal!

  • Ingredients

    1. 150g Glutafin Gluten Free Select Multipurpose White Mix
    2. 150ml water
    3. 1 tsp turmeric
    4. 1 tbsp cumin
    5. 1 tsp garlic granules
    6. 1 tsp salt
    7. 2 white onions – finely sliced
    8. Oil for frying
  • Method

    1. Combine all the dry ingredients together in a medium bowl.
    2. Add the water 2 tbsp at a time until you get to a coating (thick) consistency.
    3. Add the onions to the batter and mix well to ensure all are coated.
    4. Heat 1cm of oil in a frying pan and test with a drop of batter to see if it is hot enough – when it sizzles, it is ready.
    5. Drop in 1tbsp of Bhaji mix and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown. Cook in batches so the oil doesn’t decrease in temperature too much.
    6. Remove and drain on kitchen paper.
    7. Serve warm with Mango chutney, or mango chutney mixed with greek yoghurt for dipping.
