Planning your prescription

In Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, you can get a wider range of gluten free foods on prescription, including pasta and pizza bases, and there are no prescription charges. 

In England, gluten free food on prescription is limited to bread, bread rolls and flour mixes. In some areas, this provision is restricted further still, while in others it may not be available at all. Prescription charges in England are currently £9.90 per item (April 2025), with pre-payment certificates available at £32.05 for three months or £114.50 for a full year.
